iPhone X: From Pre-Order to Satisfaction

Posted by

On October 27, 2017 at 3:01 a.m., I was awake. Constantly refreshing my browser and waiting for the moment the Apple website came back online and opened for pre-orders. My order for the iPhone X was confirmed at 3:07 a.m. I was feeling a mixture of emotions. Excitement, exhaustion, adrenaline, and disbelief.  Did I really just spend over a thousand dollars on a phone? Well, yes. Yes I did. But I must say, I do not regret it.

A thousand dollars is a large amount of cash to spend on a cell phone.  If you don’t have the extra money, do not buy this phone. You do not need the phone to survive and your life will not change drastically if you buy the phone. Please, only buy this phone if you have the extra money to spend and you love Apple products. That being said my phone is probably worth than my car right now. But my 2001 Saturn is doing a great job of getting me around.

The camera is lovely. I have always wanted the tenth anniversary iPhone since buzz first began about the phone years ago. Apple has always said they wanted to go big for the anniversary and this camera does not disappoint. I love the new editing features in portrait mode. They will definitely add an artsy touch to your Facebook profile. The camera is a step up from previous Apple phones.

How do you get home? Many people were worried about the lack of a home button. However, I have had my phone since November 3rd and I do not miss the home button. You will quickly learn the new gestures for navigating through the features and apps on the phone. Finding your way home is never as difficult as it seems.

The big screen is nice, but many apps haven’t yet updated to fully optimize the screen. I feel this is a feature that will get better in time. I did not buy this phone for the screen, but it does give you a more immersive experience. The bigger screen gives apps more room to better organize their features, which allows your fingers easier access to them.

Overall, I am very happy with my decision to upgrade to the iPhone X. I love the sleek look, the camera, the animojis, and the face recognition software. Unlocking your phone with a simple glance is so nice and seamless. It makes for much quicker access to your phone and all of your apps that require passwords. You no longer need to think about a password or make sure your scanning the correct finger. You don’t need to worry about wet or cold hands preventing you access to your phone. It is my favorite feature of the phone and truly sets it apart from other phones on the current market. Despite the high price tag, I am living without regrets.
