Unfortunately, summer is coming to an end and the first day of school is right around the corner. I will be starting my senior year and I’ve never been more excited. I feel beyond proud of myself and all that I have accomplished. Graduating is somewhat scary and intimidating, but I am so ready to start my career and take the world by storm.
This summer was very busy for me. I work a part-time retail job and had a production internship at 20/20 Visual Media in Philadelphia. It was a great experience and I learned a great deal from having a chance to film and edit the TV show, Phillies Nation, along with other videos.
This summer flew by because I was constantly on the move. Whether I was working, at my internship, or catching up with friends. This summer is one to be remembered. Now I just need to remember to order my textbooks before summer actually ends. College is defiantly a challenging time, but it has taught me many life lessons. I feel that it is important to challenge yourself and step out of your comfort zone a bit. Get an internship in order to gain experience, but also to figure out if the career field you picked is really the one you want to work in. Meet new friends and talk to people you normally wouldn’t. No one wants to go through college alone and having a diverse support group will come in handy. Finally, it is always important to take a moment to reflect on your hard work. Just getting into college is a grand accomplishment, and every assignment gets you one step closer to graduating with a degree. It is important to know that your hard work will one day pay off, and to be proud of yourself for all the small victories along the way.
