I have been very busy lately not only because of the craziness of finals week, but I also went on a trip to Washington, D.C. with my friend and cousin. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time. The trip really allowed me to take a break and relax. I was able to enjoy my day, relieve stress, and have fun.
I find that we often times get caught up in our everyday dramas and we focus so much on school or work, but we don’t take time for ourselves. It is important to reboot and give ourselves sometime to refocus. I feel that this not only helps keep people sane, but it also gives you the opportunity to view things from a new perspective.
Taking a break is great way to become more efficient and more focused. Your break doesn’t need to be unproductive. Use the day to do something you’ve always wanted to get done, like planting flowers, painting, or reading a good book. Or use it go somewhere you’ve been wanted to visit whether it is your best friend’s new apartment or visit a fun city. Just do something for yourself that makes you happy.
So whether it is work, school, or family life that is keeping you on the move remember to always take some time for yourself. It could be a day or an hour but do something that you enjoy and that helps you unwind.
